Location was short on vehicles. Employees were working hard to keep wait to a minimum, even giving free upgrades if category reserved wasn't available. Shuttle bus driver was exceptional also - loading all bags so customers could get to the counter quickly and safely. SUV was in great shape with fewer miles than I've seen in rental cars since the pandemic. Excellent overall experience!

Alamo, National and Enterprise (all owned by the same parent company) are the farthest walk from the terminal in Athens. Reserved a sedan so that we would have a trunk for our luggage. Tried to offer me a Jeep which doesn't have a trunk and wouldn't work as my wife had broken her ankle 2 days before and couldn't have gotten up into it. Car had multiple areas of scrapes and dents, which isn't unusual for Greece but the interior was fine and it ran well. Was not happy that they gave me a car with a half tank of gas which makes it difficult to know how much to add to get it back to a half tank when you're not used to filling it and you can't do self-serve in Greece. Staff was fine to deal with though took a long time with the one customer in front of me in line.

Need to be honest with clients. When I picked up the vehicle I was offered to pay $8.00 dls and not need to worry to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas which I agreed to pay the $8 dls. After i returned it I noticed they charged me $98.00 dls extra for filling up the tank when i returned the car with a 3/4 of the tank full. I’m very disappointed with Alamo how they still money.

There was no car waiting for us as booked. The service was not very helpful. Had to wait two hours to return the car by another customer. This was delayed even further for 1,5 hours. So we lost 4 hours waiting This was all unacceptable and we had to pay a driver to take us to the needed location. No proper communication is a major problem.

Customer service was terrible. I’m still getting calls saying the vehicle wasn’t returned, when it was returned almost 2 weeks ago.

Everyone is strapped for cars these days. Luckily Hertz had a car for me (had a reservation via Kayak). Others coming to the counter late at night were not so lucky. The lot was thin. I reserved a sedan, e.g. Chevy Malibu but received a GMC Acadia. Way too much car, but can't be to picky these days. No agent in the return lot, had to take keys to counter, but it was quick.

it was a fast check in and check out

Cons:

the car was dirty and it looked like they did not put any effort to clean the outside we were additional charges I had to pay for my husband to drive the car even though we are married and on the same policy

I didn’t like anything. They cancelled on me 4 hours before pick up saying they didn’t have the car available.

Actual service from Hertz. Didn’t get the car rental because they cancelled

Pros:

Staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful.

Cons:

They would not rent me a car without a “credit card” even though my Visa debit card worked just fine for Kayak to make my reservation and charge me $88 for the insurance I ordered for the car. And I requested a refund, but of course that’s a different company, so I have to take it up with them. I emailed the insurance company with no response!

Dont let me reserve something online if its not at the location, online option should say not available.

I got a great rental at Hertz!

Cons:

I attempted to book online 2 times (on the Enterprise Site), I got all the way to payment and whack, disconnected. I follow-up with a call, disconnected! I guess you no longer need/want my business.
